The off the shoulder bodice, is finished with lilac beads, which also surround its pearl buttons, and a lilac silk dupion cummerbund encircles her trim waist. Her precious pearl necklace, earrings, bracelet and a small gilt mink trimmed pin finish her chic look

As she entered the small church she said to hello to Society beauties young and and not so young. She also recognized many of the ensembles as they had been hand picked for her customers, her keen eye knowing just what would flatter her select clientele, and above all making sure, heaven forbid, that no-one was turned out in the same outfit, or colour scheme.

Enquiries were made too as to whether she'd be carrying models similar to the outfit she was wearing. She said `Oh most definately'...and made a mental note to contact the dressmaker immediately upon her return, to ensure the suit was on display in the window on Monday morning!   Oh, and she made good use of that hanky...............

Kitty has chosen a burnt coffee coloured silk dupion suit to wear to a society wedding in New Hampshire, the guest list reading like a who's who of  50's American cafe society. Rather than wear a glitz and glam affair, she opts for a classically styled, embroidered full skirt which is scattered with soft lilac and pink stem roses and buds (She already knows what a lot of ladies are wearing since they bought their outfits from her shop)

Her dressmaker assured her that for the time of year its sure to be windy, so Kitty, who's always organised for every eventuality ordered two hats, one large cartwheel, covered in a cornucopia of ribbons and flowers and another, smaller this time, trimmed with lilac veiling, flowers and, again those lilac beads. Her spacious purse, of coffee silk dupion, can safely secure those preciously embroidered silk hankies, should the need arise, as weddings always bring tears to her eyes.
